February 3-10, 2019
A Week-Long Celebration of Local Food!
This is our fifth year organizing Seven Days of Local Delights, but this is the first time we're holding it in the winter. Given the fall's horrendous weather here in the panhandle and how busy everyone is in the fall, we thought winter might be just the thing! We are lucky to live in a part of the world where there is bounty through the winter months, and Seven Days of Local Delights aims to showcase it!
Workshops
Everyday of the week there will be a workshop on a topic related to local food. Some will be hosted by farmers or extension agents and others by chefs. There is certainly something for everyone! Topics include sourdough bread 101, raised bed gardening, how to grow tomatoes, farming on a budget, cooking with seasonal ingredients, local food swap, forestry with pigs, and gourmet mushroom production. Restaurant Partners
During the week of Seven Days of Local Delights our area's best restaurants will be offering the "Red Hills Special" which will highlight locally grown ingredients. By ordering the Red Hills Special you are showing chefs that purchasing local is important to you. Find Restaurants HERE
Fundraiser Brunch
On Sunday February 10, 2019 Kool Beanz Cafe will be hosting a delicious brunch featuring locally sourced ingredients from our Red Hills farmers! Keith Baxter, owner and chef, will be preparing the meal and all proceeds go to the Red Hills Small Farm Alliance! Buy Tickets HERE
